Carl and Marie Ruoff Family Memorial Scholarship
This need based scholarship was established through an estate gift from Carl and Marie Ruoff’s daugher, Dorothy Ruoff to support students graduating from Hamilton, Badin, Ross or New Miami School districts pursuing higher education after high school.
Dorothy was educated in the Hamilton Public Schools graduating from Hamilton High School in 1946. She attended the Butler County Business College graduating from there in 1948. From 1946 until 1950 she was associated with her parents in the operation of the City Market on South Front Street and the Better Food Market at 10th and Heaton Streets. She was employed as a secretary by the Hamilton City School District from August 1950 until retirement in July 1984. She was a member of the Lindenwald United Methodist Church and of the Faith-Hope-Love Circle of the church. She was also a past member of the Co-operative Service League and of AARP and High Twelve Auxiliary. Dorothy passed away January 2017.
