Rose Ann Post Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Rose Ann’s husband and her four children to honor her 28 years of teaching in the Hamilton City School District. Rose Ann was a respected and vibrant 7th and 8th grade English teacher at Roosevelt and Garfield High School.

A graduate of New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, Rose Ann came to Ohio to attend Miami University to receive her degree in education. While at Miami, she was president of the Chi Omega sorority, editor of the university yearbook and a member of the Mortar Board Society. She graduated in 1953 with Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Rose Ann was a special and beloved friend of Hamilton. She was actively involved in many organizations including the CL chapter of P.E.O, Trouveres and the Civelles. She was admired for her curiosity, positive attitude and caring nature. She was always thinking of others before herself and regarded a good education and showing kindness to others as the ultimate goals a person should aspire.

Rose Ann and her husband, Jack were married for 63 years and have four children and seven grandchildren. Rose Ann passed away in July 2016 at the age of 85.

This scholarship provides a 4-year renewable, need-based scholarship to graduating seniors from Hamilton High School pursuing an education degree; prefer students studying English. The student must have a 3.0 GPA in high school and maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout the four years in college to continue receiving this award.


This scholarship was established in 2016 and will impact the lives of many students today and into the future.
